Habit & Growth rate: The native range of Banksia integrifolia occurs along coastal areas it will grow in most soil types and many inland areas. Does well in dry well drained soils which may be sandy, clayish or stony soils as long as they do not accumulate water and not compacted. When young, Banksia integrifolia can be quite upright and no wider than 1-2m, with age will become wider but remains narrow for its size therefore is quite suitable for areas where space is an issue particularly width.

Of the Banksias this one is excellent for urban use particularly where space is an issue, will tolerate coastal exposure, also provides a good source of nectar for birds in the urban environment.

Foliage: Foliage is dark green with silvery underside extremely thick and leathery, linear to obovate to 15cm long. Flowers are pale yellow borne on teminal spikes or brushes, can be up to 150mm long. Flowering occurs mainly between February and September.
